The Wandering Waters update has ushered in a new era for Dota 2, and professional teams across the globe are already testing the meta in fierce competition. With The International 2025 set to take place in Hamburg, Germany, excitement is rising as Valve announces the first wave of direct invites.
Eight elite teams have earned their place at the biggest event in Dota:
Team Liquid

These squads have proven themselves worthy through their recent performances and consistency, but the journey is far from over. The remaining eight slots will be decided through Regional Qualifiers, set to begin in June following Open Qualifiers from May 31st to June 3rd (June 2nd–5th for China).
Each region will contribute:
Eastern Europe & South America (1 slot each) – June 4–8
North America & China (1 slot each) – June 9–12
Southeast Asia & Western Europe (2 slots each) – June 13–17
Familiar names like Virtus.pro, Nigma Galaxy, OG, Shopify Rebellion, and Xtreme Gaming are among those fighting for qualification, alongside fresh challengers from the Open Qualifiers.
The main event begins with a Swiss stage from September 4th to 7th, narrowing the field to the top eight teams. The final stretch plays out at Barclays Arena, starting September 11th and concluding with the Grand Finals on September 14th.
With high stakes and rising talent, the road to TI25 promises unforgettable Dota.
